Aurora

Aurora Aksnes (born June 15 on the 15th of June, 1996 from Stavanger) is an Norwegian artist and singer. Her debut E.P. Running with the Wolves has been released by Decca Records and was well welcomed by blogs about music. She has previously recorded two high-profile covers Half the World Away by the band Oasis in a commercial for Christmas by John Lewis and Nature Boy by Nat King Cole. Katy Perry, who endorsed the song Runaway with her voice, also gave it some more recognition. It was her birthday. Aurora Aksnes' earliest memory of music was discovering a grand piano that was in the attic. It was awe-inspiring to see the possibilities it offered. Jan Oystein Aksnes and May-Britt Aksnes urged Aurora to pursue music not to get a job or a hobby and as a way to improve. This led to her began to write the music she composed herself. She credits renowned composers Leonard Cohen and Bob Dylan in her influences, along with a love for Bjork's style. When her mother said that her songs would not just help her get noticed, but also make others see their importance to the world and appreciate how they can benefit from her songs and her music, she was inspired to start performing publicly. At age 6, she began to play the piano, and when she was nine was writing music. Her family didn't have any idea until she was fourteen. Aurora had no idea of being a famous singer. Her sole passion is to compose music. To her music, is the most effective way to express anything.
