Anna Gunn

Anna Gunn is an American actress. She is most famous for her role as Skyler in AMC's Breaking Bad drama, and was awarded the Primetime Emmy Award Outstanding Supporting Female Actress in Drama Series 2013 & 2014. She performed the roles of Jean Ward and Martha Bullock, respectively, in The Practice. Anna Gunn, born 1968 in Sante Fe New Mexico fell in Love with Acting in the Preparatory stage before moving with her family to Ohio. She attended theatre classes through Northwestern University and spent a year in the British American Drama Academy. Anna began her professional career with Chicago-area theaters for a couple of years. After that, she switched to film and television. Anna received her breakthrough in the year 1992, when she portrayed Arden for 29 episodes of Down the Shore. She continued to appear as guest stars on a number of television movies and shows like Seinfeld as well as NYPD Blue until the late 90's when she was cast in a role that she reprised as Jean Ward in The Practice. Martha Bullock was her role in Deadwood for two seasons. In 2008 she was cast as Skyler in Breaking Bad. Sully was the Deadwood film and other films also featured her. Gunn was also in the David Schwimmer directed production Sex With Strangers. Gunn also appeared in the four-part podcast audio drama Numbered days, which was released in 2022. The love story with Walter White and his wife Skyler is often the backbone of the plot of Breaking Bad with the strained pull on their relationship and its eventual demise arguably echoing the same storyline of Walter White's final days of life.
